If you watched the Damsels in the past, then you know we had some notoriously bad rolls. Rolling an one was a staple it seemed. The wheel has turned finally. The Dice Gods were good to us this game.

My first instinct, finding our party in an arena with our weapons, was to let an arrow fly towards the Goblin King's head. The crowd was too large to safely escape through. How do we get out of this mess?

Without a real choice, we fought our opponents in the ring. Two worgs sent in to eat us alive. Yes, the Dice Gods were with us and they were easily dispatched. Before being led back to the cells, Sudara (my character) let an arrow fly towards the King's dais. Wounding one of the King's men, she made a rude gesture and was sent below. The crowd loved it. On the way out, Sudara and Sara Conner noticed a crack in one of the columns holding the King's dais.

The party was informed they would fight Greggo the next day. Who or what is Greggo? What are we in for? Level one characters are squishy.

We need to get out of here before we are forced to fight again.

Time to formulate a plan. There is a troll running the elevator. Hmm, perhaps bribing the troll would work. Trolls love food, there are rations in my bag.

The goblins let the party members choose their cells and left. Lena and Allaphem went to the cells near the elevator. Sara Conner went around to the other cells and spoke with the occupants. Sudara listened in and spoke to a few. A Kenku parroted an interesting tidbit about a plan that might happen elsewhere. There is a, injured noble and one of his guard that seem interested in leaving with us. Sara helps an injured prisoner, but he is too injured to escape with us. He gives Sara some scrolls.

Sudara hatched a plan. Being a changeling, she took on the appearance of a goblin and bribed the troll to use the elevator. She called the party and any other prisoners to join them on an escape. Remembering the cracked column, Sudara explained the could go up and out through the dais.

Unfortunately, the gate above was locked. The party made noise getting it open and three guards were alerted. The guards attempted to open the gate and let Greggo out. Greggo is a giant, an angry giant. Sudara yelled to the giant "Greggo join us we will give you a cookie". (I mean food worked on the troll, right?) Before they could let the giant out, the party laid waste to the guards. Lena and Allaphem starting working on knocking down the pillar.

The giant was angry and tried yanking his gate open to no avail. Sudara offered to open the gate if the giant would help them escape. Good persuasion rolls and the giant, Greggo, was in.

The dais crashed partially down, the party can now crawl up. In rushes the Goblin King and six of his men. Greggo seeing the king rushes over to destroy his captor. The fight ensues. Most of the goblins were easily killed. The hobgoblins were a little tougher. The King, he is tough. Thankfully, the party except for Sudara were having great rolls.

The King pulls out a skull necklace and yells "Greggo you forgot your place". A persuasion roll between the King and Sudara will affect which side Greggo fights. Sudara rolls an 18. The King a 17. OMG, Greggo stays on the party's side. The King pulls out a javelin and looks angrily at Sudara which hits. (7 points of her 10 HP) One of the goblins leaves the fight. Down to the King versus the party. The party is rolling well. Allaphem got the killing blow.

Ding Dong...The King is dead. Lena investigated the body for loot. Lena got his +1 maul. What an awesome weapon for a new character. The monies found were distributed evenly to the party. Fantasy Grounds makes that easy to do. The group followed Greggo got the party safely out of the area. He then left the party and headed home. The game play ended for the night with the party taking a long rest in a secluded area.

We worked on leveling our characters.

Things I loved about tonight's game. Our GM calmly explained rules, spells, and use of Fantasy Grounds to those that needed it. He demonstrated how to level up. Loved that the Damsels got to play together again. The dice rolls were not dire, this was much loved by all. Loved that we are now Level Two. My rogue has Cunning Action. I call it "DDH"- dash, disengage, & hide.

Check back next week for more with the Damsels of Death & Destruction.
