Meet, Greet, & Character Creation
On 9/4/21 knowing we were going to meet, I made a direct message on Discord for the group and GM. I wanted to make it easy for all to chat, ask questions, general "getting to know you" for GM and the Damsels. We made "Hellos" and such.
On 9/5/2, GM posted a link to a game he is playing in, so we could see what he looked like. Only fair, since he had watched the videos of our last campaign. The DM for the game is a woman that he had actually taught that role to. It was fun to watch and gave some insight into his imagination.
By 9/6/21 we were all pretty excited about possibly starting a new game.
Since the Damsels have some experience with Fantasy Grounds, GM was thinking that we might be able to play the intro depending on how long it took to make the characters. This would give us a taste of his playing style.
We decided as a group on rolling for character creation, 4D6, and drop the lowest die. We were told to figure out what character we were going to make and have a vague backstory in mind. The intro would be made with the characters in mind and the backstory will be worked in between sessions 1 and 2. GM gave us a list of approved classes and races.
Finally, the time came and we all chatted on camera. Discussions were quick. We did discuss if we needed to be careful with what we said. Some people are easily offended. In Dave's game, we were asked to keep it pg-13, this game has no limits yet.
We knew that we wanted to play. Character creation began. We all logged into Fantasy Grounds and began. While we were creating characters, GM got a message from his DM. She might be joining us next session. Wait, what? A new Damsel? Maybe. We will find out next week.
Okay, here is where I admit what a truly spoiled brat I am. This is the first time I have made my character on my own. Usually, past DMs have entered what I wanted. It was faster than teaching me how to use Fantasy Grounds. OMG, the program is so easy to use. Why did they not have me do it before? There is a character wizard in Fantasy grounds Classic. Yes, we are playing on the Classic version. GM has not upgraded. (That can be fixed.) I have played on both versions. I love the program.
I got pretty good rolls and Sudara was created. Character creation did not take that long for the group, so we were able to get some gameplay in.
I am playing Sudara a Changeling Rogue. Oh please, like you could not guess my class.
Lome is playing Lena Fireforge a Dwarf Fighter.
MockingBirdGT is playing Allaphem a Dragonborn Monk.
Demdra23 is playing Sara Conner a Human Wizard.
The campaign is set in the Forgotten Realm. We find ourselves individually locked in cells in a dark place. Even those with dark vision could not see. Feeling around, we were able to realize all of our gear was with us. What moron puts a rogue in a cell with her lock picking set?
Allaphem made too much noise trying to escape, which brought the guards. Two Goblins and two Bugbears appeared with limited light. As we were blinking, adjusting to that light, we were rounded up and put in an elevator. Only a short time to introduce ourselves and we were thrust into an arena. Surrounded by Goblins, Orcs, Bugbears, and such in the stands above us. The Goblin King addresses the crowd, and...
The game ended here. Check back next week.
